CHALLENGE

A leading personal wear company commissioned Metrix to develop an online tool to identify opportunities for retail expansion.

RESEARCH APPROACH

An API was first developed to accurately map relevant retail outlets across 100+ towns from Google Maps. Consumer expenditure data from the economic census survey and retail densities in 100+ towns were incorporated into a PowerBI dashboard.

WINNING OUTCOME

An online tool was delivered within 3 weeks for the client’s business manager. The visual data tool model is able to provide the following:

•Towns with high consumer spending on personal wear products

•Personal wear retail store density in the prioritized towns

•Gaps in Client’s retail reach, as measured against retail reach of competition

•Potential locations for retail stores in selected towns
